Mentor's Compass: Guide Through Questions
Today, resist the urge to provide direct answers. Instead, practice Socratic questioning. For IT issues, ask 'What have you explored already?' or 'What assumptions are you making?' For swim technique, inquire 'What did you feel during that lap?' or 'How might you adjust your body position?' Guide them to discover solutions and insights themselves.

This approach empowers your mentees by fostering critical thinking and self-reliance. It transforms simple advice into a deeper learning experience, building their problem-solving muscle. They develop ownership over their progress, whether debugging code or refining a stroke, making them more resilient and capable leaders or athletes. You are not just solving a problem, but cultivating a problem-solver.

I want to have daily reminders that help me mentor others. i mentor and lead people at work in the IT industry, and i like to mentor coaches and swimmers on my neighborhood swim team. i have a background in swimming, so i have a lot of knowledge in that domain, but i need reminders to share both swimming knowledge and IT / technical knowledge with others.
